Coal Chute at Baring, Missouri

Santa Fe Railway destroyed this structure on October 15, 1952 at 11:17am. These pictures will show the destruction in sequence as they appeared. This Coal Chute was built to withstand time and the pictures below will demonstrate how hard it fought mankind against destruction. The plan was to fall it into a pit on the north side of the main lines and thus it would break and crumble upon impact. The Old Fellow didn't do what they wanted it to but instead fell into one big hunk therefore creating a big job for Santa Fe to break the thing up afterwards. One big thumbs up for "The Old Baring Coal Chute"!!!!!
